Genetic Counseling Licensure

To date, 20 states have passed legislation requiring licensure for genetic counselors practicing in their state.  Georgia is not one of these.  Licensure is an important step towards ensuring high quality genetic services and protecting the public from harm.  The Georgia Association of Genetic Counselors (GAGC) strongly supports efforts to enact licensure in Georgia, and is working with a lobbyist to introduce a bill to the state legislature in the near future.  Learn more by visiting georgiagenetics.org.
